Yves Saint Laurent "La Laque Couture" or the new and improved YSL lacquer range... 2/2

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a great Monday!
Today, I have the second part of my Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture to share with you all, and although you've probably seen a few already, I'm really excited to share them here.

So let's get started with Parme Graffiti, Mauve Naif and... Bleu Majorelle!

Parme Graffiti is a light cool toned lilac creme. It's not completely a pastel, I find it too dark but it's still somewhere in pastel land. I love how cool and dusty it looks on the nails, perfect for Fall and definitely sophisticated. I used 2 coats in these swatches (plus topcoat) and both application and opacity were outstanding.

Mauve Naif is not exactly what would come to mind. It's a creamy and rich Byzantium purple with a subtle cool hue. I love how deep and timeless it looks. Formula was once again wonderful and barely required a second coat. 2 coats plus topcoat here.

Bleu Majorelle. Sigh... Once there was Chanel 18 Rouge Noir and today we have YSL 18 Bleu Majorelle. I think that having said that pretty much sums up the iconic status this shade has reached. I will also spare you the color description as they completely nailed up the Marjorelle blue. Formula was once again perfect but a little less opaque than the other two making it a true 2 coater. I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

Overall :
I have tried seven of the Laques Couture so far and I have yet to find them any flaws. Of course the colors are beautiful but what truly sets them apart if the perfection Yves Saint Laurent has achieved on the formulas. I still can't get over how well they apply and how easy application is with the new large, flat and rounded brush.
Oh... And I almost forgot to add this : Bleu Majorelle! *inserts subliminal message*

What do you think girls? Did you get any of the new YSL lacquer range? What do you think the hot color is this Fall?

  9. Hi
I love these new polishes from YSL. Bought two of them and they are really just perfect. And the brush is a dream!! Just a little correction, sorry ;) It's Blue Majorelle, not Marjorelle. Thanks for the post!

  10. YSL polishes are my new favorite polishes, I guess :D I put on my nails Rouge Expressioniste on Sunday evening and was also impressed at how perfect they are. Color, pigmentation, formulation, application, brush, everything is pure perfection! I'm pretty sure I'll purchase other YSL polishes soon! They are a bit expensive, yes, but so worth it!
Although blue is usually not my favorite color I must admit that Bleu Majorelle is a must have!
I also love Mauve Naif and Parme Graffiti!

  18. These are most certainly the only swatches I've seen so far that really made me want, no wait... love, no wait.... NEED Bleu Majorelle!!!

It's true that everything looks gorgeous on you (*fangirling a little bit ;-)) but when I had Bleu Majorelle in my hands last week I had some doubts... which are completely gone now, of course! You really do the polish and the brand justice. It stands out with your pics, love the black bachground en the handpose.

I really like the purples too, Parme Graffiti and Mauve Naif. I'm in a 'purple phase" at the moment ;-)
