This Fall, OPI is releasing 2 new Designer Series shades and although I am still dying for more of their epic holographics, that feeling completely faded away with the first strokes of color.
DS Luxurious (DS 043) is as bold as orange could be. Probably so sparkly and intense that my eyes could burn! Red based orange literally packed with gold shimmer, if you loved China Glaze Riveting from the Hunger Games, Luxurious was made for you. Yes, they are close but yes you do need both. Luxurious is a bit darker and redder but also contains much more shimmer. I absolutely love it. I mean, just look!
DS Indulgence (DS 042) is the most intense, saturated and rich red shimmer. The amount of gold specks in it is ridiculously crazy and the sparkle and glow on your nails is unheard of. If you own Dior Apparat from the Holiday 2011 Les Rouges Or, the base color is very close even though the finish can't compare.
Overall :
Formula was fantastic, self levelling and easy to work with, requiring 2 coats for full opacity.
I'm completely in love. I simply find them perfect and even if I'm not so sure that the amount of shimmer justifies the price increase between them and the regular releases, I really couldn't care less!
Are you liking these year's new DS Series? Have you managed to pick any already?
DS Indulgence and DS Luxurious will be available beginning September 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

ReplyDeleteWow Luxurious looks like fire on your nails! they're not the kind of colors I usually wear, but they are beautiful and very nice for Fall!

ReplyDeleteI think I will buy DS Indulgense. This is super pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love them both! But I have ChG Riveting so considering the price I might buy Indulgence only.

Oh why did I look?? Now I want both!
ReplyDeleteI just got both in the mail 2 days ago...and they are beautiful. So glad these DS's are not all chunky glitters. Lux while looking like ChG Riveting, agree it's got more bling in it and is a tad more bit of rust in it. But it's very close to a non discouninuted OPI called Dressed To Empress...am thinking OPI took that one out of the classic line up because it was too close to this one. I a couple of the old black label Dressed to Empress and they are better than it was come green label bottle I have which is watery - maybe it was fixed after I bought mine. I adore (love, love) Indulgence and think I should get another bottle of it...I can see wearing it all winter long both for fingers and on toes when I need to see 'em and don't want a deep vampy or a rich purple on - I love reds and this one is not like anything I have...I thought Indulgence might be like one of the Zoya's from summer 2011 Sunshine collection - but nope - they are different. Indulgence has more opacity and less glass fleck than the one similar to it from Zoya.
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing! I will never have enough of red colour and this is just next level! I need to get them! :)
