"Dior Vernis captivates and dazzles in two addictive summer shades. The Croisette look goes all the way down to the fingernails with polish in Saint-Tropez, an aqua turquoise, and Bikini, a fresh, glamorous coral."
Bikini is a very soft and delicate peachy coral leaning towards pastel. It's a perfect color for Spring and I think that it would definitely compliment a wide variety of skin tones. Creme with the "secret" Dior sparse silver shimmer, formula was a pleasure to work with : 2 nice and easy coats for perfect coverage.
Saint Tropez is a re-release from last year, created for the opening of Dior's boutique in Saint Tropez as a reminder of the sparkling waters of the French Riviera. I had already reviewed this beautiful turquoise (link) but I had to re-swatch it. I remember having troubles with application and blaming the weather for them. Obviously with good reason since today it's been nothing but a dream to apply. You're looking at 2 coats plus topcoat.
1962. That's when the very first Dior nail polish was released.
To celebrate 50 years of its Vernis, Dior has hosted a live art performance in New York with Holton Rower, taking "marbling" to a whole new level!

In case you're wondering, only 5 bottle of polish were harmed in the process, the rest being regulair paint ;-)
The Croisette collection is already available and the polishes retail for $23 / £17 / 20.70€
I'm so glad I have both of these pretties! I have the most wonderful memories about Dior Saint Tropez, because it was the most unexpected an gorgeous gift I got last year when I was visiting a friend in Paris. Seeing it again here today brings back all those llovely memories! And seeing them together they complement eachother so well!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches Sam, I can't wait to wear them.
SO glad Dior re-released Saint Tropez! Such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shades, both of them!
ReplyDeletei have both of them very pretty i even got a backup of saint tropez :D
ReplyDeletethere are totally awesome :O I wouldn't mind having both of them in my collection.
ReplyDeletejust a suggestion: maybe you could start mentioning some dupes in the posts while you review the polishes? I'm sorry if it's already in the post scheme, but I didn't noticed it and I think it would be a great idea :D
I had been lemming Saint-Tropez since I missed the ultra-limited release last year and I am SO appreciative of Dior for re-releasing it. Even after 9 months of longing it lived up to my high, high, HIGH expectations! In fact, it is honestly one of my favorite polishes and I truly don't have a dupe, although I have many polishes in the same color family. I love Bikini, too, although I (whisper) haven't worn it yet. I know, for shame! I like to give my luxury polishes a proper airing and the right moment has yet to come for Bikini. I love Dior's secret shimmer and the fact that they usually do small releases so that I can buy most/all of what appeals to me. I also saw some pictures from the Dior Beauty party on a fashion site and wondered if any beauty blogs would pick up the story.
ReplyDelete@Voodoo Blonde good point! I will try to oblige ;-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE bikini! So pretty!
ReplyDeletei really love the youtube video of the live art! it's so pretty! so they will hang the canvas up together with the polishes rite? That's really a brilliant idea of a decoration in the house... i love polishes to that point!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches, Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteGreat video, I love the blue one on your nails :)
ReplyDeleteI found a dupe for saint tropez, it's from pupa. @FashionPolish
ReplyDeleteThese two new shades are so gorgeous together! They look like something sweet to cool you down on a hot day. They also look like they need to be mine. :)
ReplyDeleteRidiculously beautiful swatch pictures as always!
I have Saint Tropez from last year, and it´s really unique. Gorgeous swatches, as usual, Sam! Bisous :)
ReplyDeleteBoth are really beauties! Your photos are so perfect (as usual) - you caught the 'real' shade of these (at least on my monitor) over a couple others I have seen on blogs that were photoed too dark.
ReplyDeleteLove that idea - I am always into dupes! These 2 looked like I could find close kissin' cousins was one of my first thoughts on seeing them in this good lighting. It's rare many folks now days can/will spend $23 and up on a bottle of polish. @FashionPolish
ReplyDeleteI need them both! but they are so super expensive here in germany! :(
ReplyDeleteLove the video but 1952 was 60 years ago and not 50! Not a fan of the brushes in the Dior polishes....
ReplyDeleteBoth are sooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your swatches!
ReplyDelete@The Scarlett you're totally right! Thanks! I just corrected it :P
ReplyDeleteOs dois são lindos!
ReplyDeleteSuper achei as cores maravilhosas :)
beautiful swatches love your post and these polishes I was luckily enough to get both!

ReplyDeleteI would usually never go for a coral like that, but it is gorgeous. I feel like you can tell how good the formula is on these just from the swatches.
