Actually I should say neon collections. And although I know I've probably already said the same thing about the vampy Fall/Winter, sparkly Holiday or mysterious Halloween releases, there's just something about these eye-searing shades that instantly brightens my mood.
Let's begin with the first part of the review with :
- Under the Broadwalk
- Beach Cruise-R
- Orange you Hot
- Sun Kissed
- I'm with the Lifeguard
- Splish Splash
- Ride the Waves
Under the Broadwalk is a very bright magenta jelly. It's a beautiful, happy, shade and has the most perfectly even formula ever. I used two coats here but you might need three. It's super glossy on its own so no topcoat in these swatches.
Beach Cruise-R is another magenta but a tad lighter than Under the Broadwalk. It also has a nice bluish shimmer that makes it look cooler. Formula was even better, probably the best of the entire collection, perfect consistency and regular coverage. You're looking at 2 coats plus topcoat.
Orange you Hot is as its name suggests a hot orange LOL. Rather yellow based and bery bright. Another gorgeous orange this year but a shimmer this time. Formula was, again, amazing at 2 coats.
Sun Kissed is your typical highlighter yellow. I don't think it could get any more neon than this and truth be told, I never thought I'd actually wear such color on my nails but after a couple of minutes, I got used to it and actually enjoyed it very much. It's eye-searing and so saturated! The shimmer definitely adds another dimension. Formula was a bit thicker than the others and I think you might need 3 coats for a perfect "non streaky" look. I used 2 very careful coat here.
I'm with the Lifeguard is a lime green shimmer neon. It has the same consistency as Sun Kissed, a bit on the thick side that is, but zero streakiness. This is 2 coats.
Splish Splash is a beautiful Superman blue blue shimmer. I'm not sure this qualifies as a neon but it's a gorgeous color nonetheless and a self-levelling 2 coater!
Ride the Waves is completely different from Splish Splash. It's a truly amazing Royal blue jelly but a bit too sheer I'd say. I used 3 coats here and I could still see a tiny bit of visible nail line but I couldn't find it in me to apply a fourth. Drying time was good but not as fast drying as the neons ;-)

ReplyDeleteI wasn't at all interested in this collection until I saw your pics - I love Under The Broadwalk - ooh and the yellow! x
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I love the blue and purple ones :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for those super pretty swatches! From the promo pictures I saw I thought this would be similar to the Poolside collection but after seeing your swatches the colors look completely different and I might need them all ;)

ReplyDeleteGreat Swatches! I thought I would pass on this collection but now I have to have them all. Well so far at least. Can you do a comparison of Sun Kissed and Celtic Sun? Are they dupes?
ReplyDeletei think i'm going to have to get all of the shimmers from this collection, seems like a newer take on neon!
ReplyDelete@Kendra I really couldn't say for I don't have Celtic Sun. Obvisouly this is a shimmer so it's definitely different. Sorry I couldn't help more. xx
ReplyDeletei love im with the life guard and beach cruise-r
ReplyDeleteI really hoped that the darker blue one it's gona be creme finish :(( It's jelly unfortunately
ReplyDeletei've never had good luck with neons like the yellow and green up there. i bought a china glaze neon yellow awhile back and it went on crazy thick and gloopy (4 coats was honestly probably needed but i couldn't put that many coats on) and wouldn't even dry right even with seche vite on. idk..i've tried multiple times to apply it with no luck, i even tried the white polish underneath. i'd like to try these though, that green is particularly striking!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post!! These are all amazing, but Orange You Hot has my name written all over it :-D
ReplyDeleteYour swatches made me add a few of these to my wishlist that I wasn't previously interested in ;)
ReplyDeleteWow i loooove Ride the Waves! Could you please compare it with OPI Dating a Royal?
ReplyDelete@Marina I'm not so sure I have that one. I'll go through my stash and let you know! xx
ReplyDeleteLove this collection! I need the yellow and green ones in my life!!
