I hope you've all had a great week.
Mine was very busy, I worked a lot and broke my left index nail. That's my swatching hand so I was kind of bummed and had to file all my nails down :'(
I guess I'll have to buy me some extra polish shopping this weekend to make up for that...
Enough rambling, I know a lot of you gals have been waiting all week for this Franken Friday post and I need to say that I feel so grateful and overwhelmed every time reading your comments.
Gray Matter is a slightly green based gray packed with silver and light gold flecks. I had Orly Pixie Dust in mind and I wanted to franken a similar finish. Not necessarily an exact dupe but something close enough to satisfy my craving. After hesitating between a gray, a periwinkle and a mauve base, and with the unanimous votes of my best np friends, I went for this :
Here's what I used :
40% of well pigmented grey
40% of clear
10% of silver and gold foil in the same proportions
I also added 5 drops of OPI Bling Dinasty to add a bit more gold shimmer, that turned the blue based gray into a green based gray.
I really like how Gray Matter turned out and I hope you girls will like it too.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that I'm going to feature a small franken FAQ next Friday so feel free to ask me any questions you may have in the comments and I'll add them to the list.
xoxo.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is disgustingly beautiful. If you ever sell your frankens, I would be thrilled to buy them. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sam
ReplyDeleteI think your "short" nails look absolutely fab with this pastelish/dusty grey, but for me, I prefer pastels on rather short nails than on long nails. I've had Orly Pixie Dust on my wishlist for a long time, still haven't got it, but this one is even more beautiful. But you know me and flecks, right? ;-)
This is such a gorgeous colour you've got there! I'm sure OPI is jealous!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteStunning, Sam! The greenish hints make it one of the most original greys out there and it looks super fab on you. As to your "short nails"..really?! Girl, your nails would looks amazing even if they were stubs!! Grey Matter is another winner! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhy don;t you have your own brand of nailpolish :D?
ReplyDeleteOh my, that's stunning! Wish I could buy it =)
