Dior "Les Rouges" Limited Edition Collection

"I love red, it's the color of life", Christian Dior.

This year's Cannes film festival was the occasion for Dior to release a new ultra limited edition, numbered, red carpet inspired, nail polish collection : "Les Rouges".

Icône, Gruau, Trafalgar

the bottles are numbered in the back

Icône : a vibrant burgundy shimmer

Trafalgar : a bright tomato red creme

Overall :
Although these aren't the most unique shades, the outstanding quality of the polish makes up for the lack of originality : perfect formula and application in one (thick) to two coats. I have yet to find a Dior polish with bad formula...
The vampy shimmer and the two "faux-cremes" with their sparse silver shimmer compose a homogeneous and timeless powerful red palette that reveals the feminity of every woman.
I have already said this more than once : Dior nail polishes are rather pricey but they won't disappoint...  I wish I could say the same for every high end brand!

Availability : September 2011 in selected boutiques.

  1. Beautiful post! Red is my favorite color. I guess I would get Icône because I don't think I have any shade quite like it.

  2. These look so amazing! I should just get rid of the dupey ones in my stash and go Dior all the way when they come out.

  5. I love the way you put this post together, my compliments on that! And it's also the proof of how much I still love red polish - I love every single one of them, but Trafalgar really steals the show for me, surprisingly, as I prefer darker reds in general. Gorgeous. I regret the fact Dior is so expensive - here in Slovenia is even expensiver than in most countires as most of the nail polish is, and I simply cannot afford it and therefore missing some really great polish. Maybe with my first paycheck. ;)
Lovely post, great job, as always!

  6. That first one is SO gorgeous. But, I have to dissagree about the quality, I have Blue Label and it's a pain in the ass.

I am wondering, how do you get access so early to such limited polishes?

  9. I'm really excited about this collection, only recently have I got into reds more and more. I truly believe every woman should have at least one perfect red polish, but seeing this makes me believe you can never have enough perfect reds. And although I realise the shades might not be really innovative and trailblazing (red is red ;-)), the shimmer and also the faux cremes are so unique that I haven't seen anything like it before. I guess I will have to have them all. As usual, you are enabling!!! Love your post, as usual: PERFECT!!!

@Ulmiel Thank you for your compliment. It's the first time that I include promo pics between swatches and I also think that it looks nice in this particular post.
