Dior "Rock Your Nails" Collection Full Swatches and Review

"Rock Your Nails" is one of the collections I've been the most excited about lately, first because it's not your usual spring pastels and soft colors and second because I've never been let down by a Dior nail polish formula.

Just like Bond Street and Gris Montaigne From the "Gris City", the 5 nail polishes from this collection are "faux-cremes" : cremes with the Dior silver sparse secret shimmer.
Again formula was perfection on all of them, almost one coaters.

Dior Perfecto
Almost black. Experience any hour of the night, at your fingertips

Dior Perfecto
Perfecto is a very dark charcoal grey, just light enough to actually look grey and not black under all lighting. It's very Rock'n'Roll indeed. I need to compare it to Opi Suzy Skies in the Pyrenees.

Dior Blue Label
A deep blue. A signature rock essential to wear any time, anywhere

Dior Blue Label
Blue Label is an extremely dark blue, with a tiny hint of purple, again, it's dark but distinguishable from Black. I have a lot of blues but I really like this one.

Dior Underground
A mysterious brown. An enigmatic, urban universe.
Dior Underground
Undergroung is again a very dark, cool chocolate brown, I feel redundant but even under low lighting you'll be able to differenciate it from black. I'm not that much into brown cremes but this one I like.

Dior Purple Mix
A smoky violet. An enticing shade for a sensually charged slow dance

Dior Purple Mix
Purple Mix is right up my alley, a beautiful smokey purple but a warm one, which is not that common. No need to say I love this one.

Dior Nirvana
A grey-green. Mixing a masculine vibe with the ultra-feminine in a promise of paradise

Dior Nirvana
Nirvana is the one I was the most excited about from the promo pics and I'm so happy it's not a let down, I'd rather say it's a must have for a green lover, definitely hands down my favorite of the collection : a dusty yet vibrant green, not blue enough to be turquoise and so beautiful.

Dior Rock Coat
A smoky veil of lacquer, for a mysteriously seductive effect
I love the concept around Rock Coat. It's actually a very sheer black top coat with a nice and subtle shimmer. It will significantly darken any base color and vamp it up, I really see myself using it a lot.
It's very glossy but not thick like Seche or Poshe so it won't remove the grainy feel of an irregular nail polish like a glitter for exemple. Also, in case you wondered, it doesn't work over holos, it'll completely dull them but the possibilities are endless.
It's not very suitable for dark colors like Perfecto, Blue Label or Underground but I layered them anyway.

On the pictures below :

And regular topcoat on the nail polishes.

Opi Catch Me In Your Net

Opi Conquistadorable Color

Opi We'll Always Have Paris Suede

Illamasqua Hectic

Opi Ogre the Top Blue
In conclusion, I'd say that I really like all of the colors from this collection, I fell in love with Nirvana and Rock Coat, obviously but I'm happy I got them all.
If you have any layering suggestions, please let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to update this post with your requests... if I have them that is ;-)

Your nails and pics are a true homage to the brand, and in the difficult times that the house of Dior is going through right now this must a boost for the hard working team behind the creation of this wonderful an unique collection. Thank you for sharing!!!
I've heard rumors that these are not limited editions, and all the colours will be included in the core collection, do you know if that's true?

  9. Beautiful swatches! I'd love to see Rock Coat over a glitter polish, hope you could update the post :)

Is Rock Coat advisable for use over light shades or would it look streaky or uneven? Thanks!

  10. Thanks gilrs!
@Lily nail I bought them all in a Dior Boutique.
@Marionne I believe it isn't a limited edition as it is sold in Boutiques, counters and beauty retailers but I can definitely try and find that out for you
@switch I just posted a full review of Rock Coat, including glitters for you.
I wouldn't say that it's streaky, maybe a tiny bit unneven on light colors if you don't pay attention, you just have to make sure you have enough topcoat on the brush if you want do apply a single coat of Rock Coat.

  16. @Anonymous Blue Label is darker than Bond Street and lighter then Chanel Blue Satin. I'll try and add a picture of the bottles side by side!
