"Love" Manicure

When it comes to nail art, I must admit, I am very picky.
To each it's own, I don't judge, I can appreciate the skills, hard work, etc but  when my nails are at stake, even though I sometimes go for bold, on a daily basis, I usually prefer subtle designs : geometric paterns, harmonious colors... Something not overelaborated that you can wear without having your nails screaming "look at me!" But again, I guess one can't be objective.

A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed a nail polish from Ciaté, Twilight , it came in a pack that included the one I'll be showing you today : Fade to Greige.

Fade to Greige is a mink taupy shade, a grey taupe with hints of purple. Like I already said I it's very close to the discontinued China Glaze Channelesque or to the new Below Deck from the Anchors Away Spring 2011 collection.

Just like the other Ciatés I own, application was perfect : 2 coats of flawless application.
The color is more accurate on the second picture.

Ciate Fade to Greige

No step by step today because the nails are all different but here's a quick "how to":

1. 2 coats of Fade to Greige over base coat (Nail Tek Foundation II)
2. 1 coat of top coat (Seche Vite)
3. Draw the letters using a black nail art stripper then fill the inside with black nail polish (Illamasqua Boosh). Make sure to alternate the colors : the L and V are greige, the heart that stands for the O and the E are black.
4. 1 coat top coat (Essie Good to Go)
