Pêche Nacrée is the third nail polish from the "Les Perles de Chanel" collection, among with Black Pearl and Pearl Drop that I first reviewed here.
You can still enter the Black Pearl giveaway if you'd like to receive one bottle of that gem.
Nacrée is the french word for frosted and while it might sound sophisticated in French, once translated it tends to have an old-fashioned connotation, we'll see about that after the pics.

Peche Nacree is not the type of color I would usually wear, maybe with a tan although I could see it as a work-safe type of color.
Now, on to the comparisons. Pêche Nacrée is undeniably on the pink side of peach, I really didn't expect it to be so pink, I planned on comparing it to Chanel Miami Peach and Orange Fizz but it seemed pointless once I had it in my hands; so I went through my stash and the closest nail polish I could find was Nars Orgasm. Although the predominent gold shimmer makes it look more orange, I find their base color to be close enough to justify comparing them, so here goes :

I really like Orgasm and Miami Peach even though I always seem to be drawn to dark colors and believe it or not, it's the first time I applied either one of them; shame on me, so many untried nail polishes and I keep on buying more...
I have to admit that this post has been rewritten, at first a had a strong negative opinion about Pêche Nacrée but then somehow it grew on me and I regretted being so uncompromising; I guess that's what happens when you have great expectations.
Since it's out of my confort zone, it did take some getting used to, now I think I'll take it for what it is : a nice nude-peach-pink with a very nice 2 coat coverage, a flawless application (minimum brushstrokes) and a high gloss shine.

ReplyDelete@rmcandlelight (nailsbeautiqued) I totally agree with you. As for Miami Peach, I had to hunt this one down after seeing a tester at Sephora (no stock left though hence the hunt, lol).
